What an amazing poignant beautiful gift to see this tonight, after losing our beloved Jody just a couple months ago. I loved the piece for so many reasons, it is so Jody, but mostly what a gift to hear his voice again and see him in his flat and with his doggy Boys he loved so much.
When I was growing up I knew my Uncle Jody was gay, but as a child no one explained to me what that meant. So I came up with my own explanation based on my Uncle Jody’s example, that you could love anybody, it was all good, it was all love, and a family is a family is a family. Love love love and the freedom to be yourself. It all comes down to this.
I love you Uncle, and miss you so much, and I’m so proud of you, and so blessed to call you my Duncle Dody.
Always Your Deb
