A gay rights activist since the ’70s, Judy Rickard has been highlighting the struggles of same-sex binational couples since she fell in love with Karin, a U.K. citizen. Now married, they are advocating for green card applications like theirs to be held in abeyance while DOMA makes its way through the courts, or is repealed by Congress. Judy is the author of Torn Apart: United by Love, Divided by Law, published in 2011.

then WHATS NEXT?? How many families have to sefufr?? DOMA has to end.. it really has to end..what happened to DOMA repeal?? any update? after the july 20 hearing i heard nothing about the repeal. all i heard is that Doma is unconstitutional.. if it is really unconstitional.then repeal it! stop wastin money and time! and end our sefufring.I have a Question for Mr. Boehner coz he keeps on defending DOMA: Mr Boehner hOw DOMA affect you and your Family. Do you celebrate christmas,birthday,thanks giving, alone because of DOMA ?? Do you sleep alone and spend too much on telephone bills because of DOMA??Do you read bedtime stories for your child thru skype because you cant be with her because of DOMA?? Did you miss your childs graduation and first day of school because of DOMA? . now ask me how doma affect me.. DOMA ruined everything! it ruined my life!
